Project Highlights
- Accelerating the development of Ceres 5kW Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) stack to capitalise on existing and emerging global opportunities.
- Putting in place the technical innovations necessary for second generation stacks suitable for high volume.
- Innovations to be developed during the project include optimised stack architecture, next generation of SOFC technology, cell laser processing developments, and stack welding developments.
- Total project value £13.9 million, with £4.5 million funded through the APC.

Speeding up development time
The project will enable Ceres to rapidly develop a 5kW stack with increased volumetric and gravimetric power density in line with the requirements from a growing sector of automotive and stationary OEMs keen to adopt SOFC as a key green power generation enabler.
